Traditions over Common Sense

Practices are a extremely important aspect of human being life. They are seen as another way of existence. Many traditions teach points of value to children, issues which parents hope will be passed on to future ages. In many communities however , customs have taken over the common sense of the people. At present, humans blindly follow practices, not knowing or even acknowledging what exactly they are really carrying out. Whether it is a celebratory traditions or a tradition that has been followed since ancient times, individuals will not query the purposes behind it; they will just continue to follow it. In the short history " The Lottery” by simply Shirley Jackson, villagers blindly follow their particular annual traditions, one that statements a lifestyle every year. All of the villagers take part in this event understanding that there will be death yet no person dares to quit and question it. Even when some people do stop and question the causes that started the traditions, they will not do anything about it because it is a tradition that is followed countlessly and they usually do not want to be the sole ones to question this or even worse, certainly not follow it. This shows that individuals will put up with acts of evil and injustices in traditions, thus, making them unable to leave that group and see what is really occurring because of their choice of custom over good sense. It does not matter in case the tradition involves bloodshed or maybe death; humans will carry on and blindly comply with tradition.
